'THE BREATH OF OUR ANCESTORS, THE VOICE OF TOMORROW'
Like the dawn that kisses the land, like the tide that whispers to the shore—te reo Māori lives, flows, and endures. At Kōtihi Reo Consultants, we do not simply teach; we awaken. We do not merely translate; we weave meaning between worlds. With the wisdom of our ancestors and the skill of the present, we guide the voice of our people—shaping words, refining stories, and ensuring that every syllable carries the essence of its ancestors. From soul to voice, from heart to page—we honour the language as a living force, binding, empowering, leading us home.
Come, let us journey where words are more than sound—where they breathe, where they sing, where they stand, āke, āke, āke.

🗨 WEAVING WORDS, BRIDGING WORLDS
(Translations, script writing & editing)
Between tongues, between worlds, between past and present—we stand as weavers of language, threading meaning from one reo to another.
With skill and reverence, we shape words into pathways, ensuring that voices are not just heard, but truly understood. From English to Māori, from Māori to English, from thought to script, we craft stories that honour the beauty and depth of both worlds.
Let the language flow. Let the stories live. Let the journey of words begin.

DR ANAHA HIINI
Ngāti Tarāwhai.
Born beneath the rising mists of Rotorua, Dr Hiini walks the footsteps of his ancestors, weaving words like flax into a kete of knowledge. A devoted husband, a father to eight, and a grandfather to four, he carries the weight of whakapapa with pride. Like the pou of his whare, his academic journey has been etched in the traditions of te reo Māori, a testament to the endurance of language, culture, and identity.
Anaha likens the state of the language to a river running dry, its once-mighty flow now but a whisper of what it was. Yet, he dreams of a time when its waters will overflow—strong, vibrant, and pure. He longs for te reo to be spoken with the same natural rhythm and richness as it was spoken in his forefather's day, when the voices of native speakers filled the air like birdsong at dawn.
Ph.D. Doctor of Philosophy in Te Reo Māori - Waikato University.
GRACE HIINI
Ngāti Whakaue ki Tai, Tūhoe.
Grace was nurtured by the salt-kissed winds of Maketū, where the ocean hums its eternal song and the land whispers tales of old. Yet, for the past 30 years, she has walked the paths of Rotorua, a place where steam rises like ancient spirits and stories linger in the mist.
Her journey has been woven into the fabric of Māori tourism, where she has dedicated much of her working life to sharing the beauty, depth, and mana of her culture with the world. As the Managing Director of the company, she stands at the helm, guiding its course with wisdom, grace, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

RUIHANA TE NAHU
Ngāti Whakaue, Tūhourangi / Ngāti Wāhiao, Ngāti Porou, Rongomaiwahine, Ngāti Kahungunu, Te Aitanga-a-Hauiti.
Ruihana has been the steady hand that nurtures the voices of tamariki and mokopuna, cradling their words within the sacred embrace of total immersion Kōhanga and Puna Reo. Like a river carving its path back to the sea, he ensures that te reo Māori flows effortlessly from their lips—strong, unbroken, and true.
Through Kōtihi Reo, he walks alongside many on their voyage of rediscovery, guiding them from the first delicate ripples of te reo to the deeper currents of fluency. His teaching is a dance of balance—gentle yet firm, light yet purposeful—a space where language is not merely learned but lived, where every voice finds its rhythm within the heartbeat of the Māori world.
